Alan Siegel
Favorite stamp:
I love the 2012 Major League Baseball stamps that are coming out in July. I grew up wanting to be Ted Williams. Too bad I’m right-handed and I was a terrible hitter in Little League.
Three things I always have with me:
Cell phone—I feel naked without it—wallet, and wedding ring.
Favorite way to spend my spare time:
In order of preference: gorging on Netflix movies and TV shows with my wife, writing, and playing tennis.
The last book I read:
Fiction: The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao by Junot Diaz
Non-fiction: Those Guys Have All the Fun: Inside the World of ESPN by James Andrew Miller and Tom Shales
One thing I can’t live without:
Probably my laptop or Arnold Palmers (oops, that’s two things!).
My favorite place in the United States:
The summer camp I went to in New Hampshire. I love Boston, too, but camp still wins out.
The best meal I ever had:
This changes frequently, but right now it’s a cheeseburger, medium rare, pepper jack, lettuce, tomato, sauteed mushrooms, and barbecue sauce, with a side of fries, at Ray’s Hell Burger in Arlington, Virginia.
Life motto:
Basically just treat people well.
