On this day in 1941, New York Yankee Joe DiMaggio—one of the four legends who will appear on the Major League Baseball All-Stars stamps—extended his famous hitting streak to 30 games. But it wasn’t easy. The “Yankee Clipper,” as he was called, managed a single in his final at-bat of the day. For more about DiMaggio’s incredible streak, which lasted until July 17, visit his official website.
The Major League Baseball All-Star stamps will be released July 20 in Cooperstown, New York. The Joe DiMaggio stamp will be dedicated July 21 in New York City.
