How cute is that?! It seems to be pictorial postmark day here at Stamp of Approval! The Cincinnati Post Office is celebrating the 2012 World Choir Games by offering free commemorative pictorial postmarks during the 11-day event. This free service will bring the passion and music from the stage to your mailbox. Let Whirl and Twirl, the official mascots of the 2012 World Choir Games, help you remember the magic!
Now through July 14th (excluding Sunday the 8th) an appropriately dated commemorative postmark will be available during regular business hours at the Queen City Station, located at 525 Vine St., Cincinnati, OH 45202 (The Queen City Station is located on the 2nd floor of the Macy’s building across from Fountain Square) and at the Main Office Finance Station located at 1623 Dalton Ave., Cincinnati OH 45234.
The Queen City Station is open 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The Main Office Finance Station is open 7:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7:30 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturdays.
Love choral music but can’t make it to the games?
Those who wish to obtain the postmark(s) through the mail may submit a mail-order request. Pictorial postmarks are available only for the date indicated, and mail-order requests must be postmarked no later than 30 days following the requested postmark date.
Requests must include a stamped envelope or postcard bearing at least the minimum First-Class $.45 postage or $.32 postcard postage. The minimum First-Class postage for an international postcard or letter starts at $.85. A self-addressed stamped envelope is required to return the postmarked item(s).
You should affix stamps to any envelope or postcard of your choice, address the envelope or postcard to yourself or someone else, insert a card of postcard thickness in envelopes for sturdiness, and tuck in the flap. Place the envelope or postcard in a larger envelope and address it to:
Main Office Finance Station
1623 Dalton Ave.
Cincinnati, OH 45234
You can also send stamped envelopes and postcards without addresses for postmark as long as you supply a larger envelope with adequate postage and your return address. After applying the pictorial postmark, the Postal Service returns the items (with or without addresses) under addressed protective cover.
