A Show Your Heart Will Love

Did you know that coronary heart disease (CHD) is the leading cause of death among men and women in the United States? It doesn’t have to be! Many cases of heart disease can be prevented. By making just a few simple lifestyle changes, you can lower your risk of developing CHD and help protect your heart for a lifetime.

Eating a heart-healthy diet is one of the most important facets of overall wellness. Consuming plenty of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains and avoiding foods that are high in sodium, saturated fats, and sugar promotes heart health. Such a diet can help control blood cholesterol levels and prevent high blood pressure, overweight, and diabetes—all risk factors for heart disease.

With the issuance of the Heart Heath (Forever®) stamp in February, the U.S. Postal Service has committed to making 2012 a heart healthy year. That’s why we’ve teamed up with NBC’s The Biggest Loser.

Send in letters of encouragement to your favorite contestants on the show and you’ll automatically be entered in our sweepstakes, where you could win a week at The Biggest Loser Resort, a month of healthy meals, or tickets to the 2013 season finale. See the contest page for full details, and make sure you tune in to NBC tonight at 8/7c. to watch what happens when three fan favorite contestants from last season show up to guest judge.
